Meet Madelyn Hebert Dooley, MSN, APRN

Founder, New Creation Wellness LLC

Madelyn Hebert Dooley is a Louisiana native, experienced nurse practitioner, who provides compassionate, integrative healthcare focused on the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. Originally from Mandeville, Louisiana, Madelyn moved to Lafayette after high school and earned a degree in Anthropology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2004. She began her career with the U.S. Forest Service in Alexandria, Louisiana, studying the history and cultures of those who once inhabited Kisatchie National Forest.

While she enjoyed this work, Madelyn felt called to a career centered more directly on serving others. Encouraged by her family, she pursued nursing and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2007. Madelyn returned to Lafayette and began working at Lafayette General, caring for patients in cardiac care, post-anesthesia care, and intensive care. Her experiences at the bedside—and witnessing medical and pastoral teams work together in the care of critically ill patients deepened her belief that meaningful healthcare should consider not only the body, but also the emotional and spiritual well-being of the patient.

 

In 2014, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and continued her career as a nurse practitioner in pulmonary and critical care. Madelyn's perspective on healing became even more personal after the loss of her husband,Jason, in 2017. Walking through grief strengthened her understanding that health is complex and that caring for the whole person often requires looking beyond physical symptoms alone.

Experience That Shaped a New Approach

In 2020, Madelyn transitioned into cardiology at Cardiovascular Institute of the South before moving into primary care with an emphasis on preventive and holistic medicine. She later spent two and a half years expanding her experience in endocrinology.

 

Her diverse clinical background—including critical care, pulmonology, cardiology,

endocrinology, primary care, and functional/preventive medicine—ultimately inspired her to create a practice that brings these experiences together.

In 2025, Madelyn fulfilled her dream of becoming a business owner by founding New Creation Wellness LLC, practicing under the umbrella of Acadiana Center for Natural Health. Today, she combines traditional primary care with functional and integrative medicine principles, lifestyle support, and faith-guided wellness. Her approach begins with listening to each patient's story, looking at the bigger picture, and developing an individualized plan based on their needs and health goals.

Faith, Family & Purpose

Madelyn is married to Kearn Dooley, who has served the Acadiana community for more than 20 years as a funeral director and prison minister. Today, Kearn also works alongside Madelyn, helping operate New Creation Wellness and supporting the vision behind the practice.

 

Their shared Christian faith is an important part of their lives and their commitment to serving others. Madelyn's faith has encouraged her to explore healthcare beyond the boundaries of traditional medicine while continuing to value evidence-informed care, prevention, lifestyle change, and the connection between physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
